I’m Candra Brown—a visionary entrepreneur, award-winning real estate leader, and builder reshaping the future of construction and development. I’m proud to be recognized as the first Black woman in the United States to solely found and lead a construction and development firm while also serving as the builder, developer, contractor, and licensed realtor.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston and began my professional journey as a science teacher and volleyball coach. One of my proudest early achievements was leading my team in Pearland ISD to an undefeated season and a district championship, earning recognition as an award-winning coach. That same dedication to excellence and team-building still drives my work today.
My passion for real estate quickly became a calling. I went all-in—earning the following designations:
Thanks to my CIPS certification, I now operate in 10 international jurisdictions, including Ghana, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Belize, and England.
In 2021, I founded BEDDIEO Construction & Design, a minority-owned firm specializing in residential, commercial, and sustainable development projects. Today, BEDDIEO holds over $9 million in active contracts, and we’re just getting started.
But construction is only one part of our ecosystem. I’ve also launched:
I also lead a team under eXp Realty, where I serve as a mentor and team lead helping agents grow in both local and international markets.
I currently serve as:
I also serve as the CEO of Hampton Holdings Real Estate Investment Trust, and I’m the host of an Emmy-nominated TV show that highlights Houston’s real estate, culture, and community.
Before entrepreneurship, I worked with powerhouse companies like Apple, Inc. and Amazon—leading supply chain operations and contributing to innovation and sales. These experiences sharpened my operations mindset and gave me tools I now apply across my businesses every day.
I’m also the proud founder of the Sweet Dreams Sweet Life Foundation, where we work to uplift underserved youth by addressing both economic empowerment and mental health—two pillars I believe are essential for generational transformation.
I believe in building more than buildings. I believe in building people, communities, and legacy. This is my blueprint—and I’m just getting started.
